This seminar will review a series of current or recent significant debates in anthropology. Students in both majors complete several months of fieldwork and are required to write an empirical thesis that integrates theoretical interpretation of data collected in the field. Preferred areas of research and teaching interest include (but not limited to) public health and health disparities, cross-cultural and/or international health programs and policies, environmental health issues, and interactions of culture and genetics.
