Performing a critical analysis the paper focuses on three closely related discourses: 1. ‘Intra-institutional living conditions of people with dementia’, 2. ‘Practices of staff towards the people with dementia’ and 3. ‘Scientific literature as well as more practical related guidelines’. Another way in which this point about democratic legitimacy can be made is to distinguish the various uses to which practical reason may be put in various forms of discourse. The main purpose of this seminar is to provide students with an understanding of how social factors contribute to racial/ethnic, socioeconomic and gender disparities in health and health care.
